Fantasy AI video prompts for worlds, creatures and magic

Fantasy prompts land when the impossible thing is grounded in real physics: give the dragon weight and wet scales, make the spell the light source that colours faces, and put something human-sized in a vast shot for scale. Name the world's material culture (stone, timber, brass, moss), one creature or character, one action, the light, the mood and the camera. Below are 22 original prompts and a short world-bible method that keeps a series consistent.

  • Veedio's Cinematic style suits epic fantasy; Watercolor and Claymation suit storybook and cosy fantasy.
  • Lily (velvety, cinematic) and George (warm, captivating storyteller) are Veedio voices suited to fantasy narration.
  • A 3-minute fantasy episode with twelve still scenes costs 27 credits on Veedio; with motion on all twelve it costs 159.
  • Veedio's Cinematic music bed and AI score both suit fantasy.

Three things that make AI fantasy look real

Scale. A castle on a cliff is just a picture; a castle on a cliff with a single rider on the road below is a world. In every wide fantasy shot, include something whose size the viewer already knows, a person, a horse, a cart, a door, and the vastness reads at once.

Light from the magic. The weakest fantasy frames have glowing effects pasted onto evenly lit scenes. The strongest make the spell, the crystal or the dragon's fire the motivated light source: 'her face lit blue from below by the glowing rune in her palm, the rest of the cave in darkness'. That one change makes magic feel physical.

Material culture. Generic fantasy is grey stone and vague robes. Choose what this world is built from and keep it: driftwood and rope, white limestone and copper, black timber and moss, sandstone and coloured glass. Repeating the same materials across scenes does more for consistency than any character description.

World-establishing shots

Open an episode with one of these. They work as stills with a slow push-in, which keeps cost low while the narration sets up the world.

  • City in the waterfall

Extreme wide shot, slow push-in: a city of white limestone towers and copper domes built into the face of a vast waterfall, a single sailing barge approaching on the river below. Morning sun through spray, rainbows in the mist, awe mood, cinematic.

  • Library tree

Low wide shot looking up: a colossal hollow tree whose inner trunk is lined with spiral wooden bookshelves and rope bridges, a robed scholar climbing a ladder for scale. Shafts of green-gold light, floating dust, wonder mood.

  • Bone-white desert

Aerial wide shot: a caravan of six camels crosses dunes toward the ribcage of an enormous ancient creature half buried in the sand, a tented market set up inside it. Hot white noon light, heat shimmer, epic loneliness.

  • Sky harbour

Wide shot from a dock: wooden airships with patched canvas balloons moor at a harbour built on floating rocks, ropes and cranes everywhere, dockhands tiny against the hulls. Sunset, orange sky and violet clouds, adventurous mood.

  • Drowned kingdom

Underwater wide shot, slow descent: the spires of a sunken stone kingdom covered in coral and seagrass, a lone diver's lantern lighting a carved doorway. Blue-green light from above, drifting particles, haunting calm.

  • Winter mountain pass

Extreme wide shot: a narrow pass between black cliffs where a stone gate carved with two kneeling giants guards the road, a small party with torches approaching. Blizzard dusk, firelight against blue snow, foreboding mood.

Original creatures

Describe creatures through two real animals plus one material, and give them behaviour. 'Like a heron crossed with a moth, wings of grey velvet' beats 'a magical creature'.

  • Moss drake

Medium wide shot, telephoto: a long, low dragon with scales like wet slate and moss growing along its spine drinks from a forest stream, steam rising from its nostrils. Overcast diffused light, quiet majesty, cinematic realism, shallow depth of field.

    Use this prompt
  • Lantern moths

Close-up, slow orbit: a moth the size of an owl with velvet grey wings and a glowing amber abdomen rests on a traveller's outstretched arm. Night forest, its glow the only light, gentle wonder mood.

    Use this prompt
  • Stone tortoise

Extreme wide shot: an ancient tortoise as large as a hill walks slowly across a plain, a small village of huts on its shell with chimney smoke rising. Golden late afternoon light, long shadows, peaceful awe.

    Use this prompt
  • Glass stag

Medium shot, static: a stag whose antlers are clear crystal stands in a snowy clearing, moonlight refracting through them into small rainbows on the snow. Night, cold blue and prismatic light, reverent mood.

    Use this prompt
  • River guardian

Low angle from the riverbank: a huge creature like a heron crossed with a willow tree rises from the reeds, bark-like feathers dripping, looking down at a child with a fishing rod. Misty dawn, soft grey light, awe without threat.

    Use this prompt
  • Ember fox

Tracking shot at ground level: a small fox with a tail of slowly drifting embers runs through a charred forest where new green shoots are growing. Smoky twilight, the tail lighting the ground around it, hopeful mood.

Magic as a light source

  • First spell

Close-up, slow push-in: a young apprentice with ink-stained fingers cups her hands as a small sphere of white light forms, lighting her astonished face from below. Dark stone workshop, everything else in shadow, wonder mood.

  • Rune door

Medium shot from behind a cloaked traveller: she presses her palm to a stone door and carved runes light up in a spreading line of teal light. Torch-lit cave, teal glow on wet rock, suspense.

  • Healing hands

Close-up on hands: an old healer's wrinkled hands hover over a wounded bird, warm gold light seeping between her fingers into its feathers. Candlelit hut, soft shadows, tender mood, shallow depth of field.

  • Storm caller

Low-angle wide shot: a figure on a sea cliff raises a staff as lightning forks down into it, cloak and hair whipping, the waves below lit white. Night storm, violent flashes, epic intensity, cinematic.

  • Map that draws itself

Top-down close-up: an old parchment map on a tavern table where inked rivers and roads draw themselves in glowing lines, a dagger and a candle holding the corners. Warm candlelight, gold glow from the ink, curious mood.

  • The witch's kitchen

A four-line world bible to paste above every scene

  1. Materials: what the buildings and tools are made of (for example 'white limestone, copper, sailcloth').
  2. Palette and light: the dominant colours and time of day you return to ('teal and gold, often dusk').
  3. Magic rule: what magic looks like and what it lights ('runes glow teal and light whatever is near').
  4. Main character line: one sentence you never change ('young woman, short copper braid, grey travelling cloak, walking staff').

FAQ

Questions people ask next

How do I make AI dragons look less fake?

Give them weight and texture: wet slate scales, moss, scars, steam from the nostrils, a heavy tread in mud. Shoot them like wildlife, on a telephoto lens with shallow depth of field, doing something ordinary like drinking or sleeping.

Can I use creatures from famous fantasy books or films?

Avoid named creatures, characters and places from existing franchises. Generic myth creatures (dragons, griffins, sea serpents) are fine, and original ones built from two real animals plus a material are better still.

How do I keep a fantasy world consistent across a series?

Use a short world bible: materials, palette, a magic rule and one main character line. Paste it into every scene prompt and keep one visual style for every episode.

Is mythology the same as fantasy for prompting?

Close, but mythology has source material. If you retell a myth, describe the setting and dress of that culture respectfully and avoid mixing traditions. Veedio has a separate Mythology Video Generator for retellings.

Which scenes in a fantasy video need AI motion?

Creatures moving, spells forming, storms. Establishing shots of cities and landscapes work well as stills with a slow push-in. On Veedio, five scenes cost 13 credits as stills and 68 with motion throughout.

Can I narrate a fantasy story in another language?

Yes. Veedio narrates in 29 languages, including Spanish, German and Japanese, with captions in the same language.
