YouTube Title Generator

Ten titles for one video, all under the length YouTube actually shows.

  • 01Say what the video is. One line. Adding the format changes the shape of the titles noticeably.
  • 02Ten titles that fit. All under 60 characters, so none of them are cut off on a phone.
  • 03Take one into a script. Each title has a button that seeds the Shorts script generator with it.

The subject. Add the format — how-to, story, list — if you know it.

01

Length is the constraint nobody applies

YouTube truncates titles in most surfaces, and on a phone that happens sooner than people expect. A title whose payload is in the last four words is a title nobody read, however good the phrasing is.

So every title here comes back under sixty characters with the specific part at the front. That single rule improves click-through more than most of the phrasing advice that gets written about titles, and it costs nothing to apply.

02

On Shorts, the title is a second hook

For long-form video the title sells the click. For a Short the viewer is already watching, so the title is doing something else: it is the thing that makes them read on, and it is a large part of how the video gets found in search later.

That is why this generator hands off into the Shorts script generator rather than dead-ending. Write the title first, then write the script against it, and the two do not fight each other.

Questions

How long should a YouTube title be?

Under sixty characters, with the specific part at the front. YouTube truncates in most surfaces and sooner on a phone, so a title whose payload is at the end is a title nobody read.

Will these titles work for Shorts?

They are written for them. On a Short the viewer is already watching, so the title is a second hook and a large part of how the video is found in search later.

Should I use capitals or emoji?

Sparingly at most. Full capitals read as spam to a lot of viewers, and an emoji only helps when it is doing something a word would not. Neither is generated here by default.

Can I get a description too?

Yes, on the video description generator on this site. It writes the description and the hashtag set, and it is free under the same account.

Does the button really write the script?

It seeds the Shorts script generator with the title you picked, so the script is written against that specific promise rather than against a general topic.

Is there a limit?

A few runs an hour per account. Enough for a week of uploads; not enough to be worth scraping.
