“एक घने जंगल में गोलू नाम का एक विशाल हाथी रहता था। उसे अपनी ताकत पर बहुत घमंड था। एक दिन उसने छोटी-सी चींटी को देखकर कहा, “तुम इतनी छोटी हो, किसी के क्या काम आओगी?” चींटी चुपचाप वहाँ से चली गई। अगले दिन गोलू नदी में पानी पी रहा था, तभी उसका पैर कीचड़ में फँस गया। वह बहुत कोशिश करने लगा, लेकिन बाहर नहीं निकल पाया। गोलू जोर-जोर से मदद माँगने लगा। तभी वही छोटी चींटी वहाँ आई और अपने दोस्तों को बुला लाई। हजारों चींटियों ने मिलकर जंगल के दूसरे जानवरों को बुलाया। सबने मिलकर गोलू को बाहर निकाल लिया।…”
