Lumi the firefly woke up, but something felt wrong. Her tiny light, usually so bright, was completely gone! She couldn't even see her own antennas.
She looked under her mushroom bed, then behind her favorite dewdrop. No sparkle anywhere! Lumi worried she might be the first firefly without a glow, a dark speck.
Suddenly, a warm, tingly feeling began in her little abdomen. It grew, brighter and brighter, until a cheerful yellow light burst forth! Her sparkle was back, stronger than ever.
Lumi realized her sparkle hadn't been lost; it was just sleeping! Sometimes, even the brightest things need a little rest before they can shine their very best again.
