Have you ever noticed the moon looks huge when it's low on the horizon, almost like you could reach out and touch it? It's a trick your brain plays on you.
When the moon is high up, there's nothing next to it for your brain to compare its size to, so it appears smaller than it really is.
But near the horizon, your brain sees buildings, trees, and other familiar objects next to the moon, making it appear much larger by comparison.
It’s the same moon, just a clever optical illusion happening right inside your head, making you think it grew in size.
