How do you make TikTok ads with AI?

Make the ad look like a TikTok, not a commercial: a spoken hook in the first two seconds, vertical 9:16, one idea, captions on every word and a plain ask at the end. Generate two or three versions with AI, post them as normal videos to see which one people watch, then put money behind the winner in TikTok Ads Manager. Label realistic AI scenes and make sure every sound is cleared for commercial use.

  • Veedio’s AI TikTok Ad Generator opens on Cinematic visuals, the Josh voice, Highlight captions and Trap music, in 9:16.
  • Veedio publishes directly to TikTok from the app on every paid plan.
  • A five-scene TikTok ad costs 13 credits with stills or 68 with AI motion.
  • TikTok asks creators to label AI-generated content that shows realistic scenes.
  • TikTok reviews ad creatives against its advertising policies before they run.

Why TikTok ads should be made like TikToks

On TikTok your ad sits between videos people chose to watch, and it is judged the same way: does the first moment give a reason to stay? A polished brand spot with a logo up front feels like an interruption. A person-shaped voice saying something specific feels like the next video.

That is why the best route for a small business is usually organic first. Make two or three AI versions, post them to your own account as ordinary videos, and watch which one keeps people past the opening. The one that holds up becomes the ad, either promoted from your account or uploaded as a creative in Ads Manager.

AI makes this cheap enough to do every week. You are not paying for a shoot per idea, so you can afford to be wrong about the angle twice before you are right once.

Anatomy of a 30-second TikTok ad

SecondsJobWhat it sounds like
0 to 2Hook: name the viewer’s situation“Out of dish soap again?”
2 to 8Make it specific“And the only bottle left at the shop is plastic, again.”
8 to 20Show the fix“Refill Route drops glass refills at your door and takes the empties back.”
20 to 26Remove the doubt“You pick the products, we pick the day. Skip a week whenever you like.”
26 to 30One clear action“First drop is booked from the link in our bio.”

Steps, including the TikTok side

  1. 1

Set up a TikTok Business account

Switch your profile to a Business account in TikTok’s settings and create a TikTok Ads Manager account for payment and targeting. Connect the same account to Veedio so you can post tests directly.

  2. 2

    Write a hook-first brief

In the AI TikTok Ad Generator, type the viewer’s situation first, then the fix and the action. Example: “People who keep running out of cleaning products. Refill Route delivers glass refills and collects empties. Book the first drop from the link in bio.”

  3. 3

    Check the script for claims

Read every scene before anything renders. Remove unproven words such as “cheapest” or “best” and any price you did not type. TikTok’s ad review looks at claims, and so do your customers.

  4. 4

    Decide on sound

Ads need sound you are allowed to use commercially. Pick a music bed you have rights to, or choose No music in Veedio and add a track from TikTok’s Commercial Music Library when you build the ad.

  5. 5

Render two or three hook versions

Same body, different first line. Stills are fine for the test round; re-render the winner with AI motion if you want more movement.

  6. 6

Post the versions as ordinary videos

Publish to TikTok from the app a day or two apart, with the AI-generated label switched on if any scene could be mistaken for real footage. Watch average watch time and how many viewers reach the end.

  7. 7

    Promote the winner

Boost the winning post from your account, or download the MP4 and upload it as a creative in Ads Manager. Write ad text that matches the voiceover so the promise is the same everywhere.

  8. 8

    Refresh before it tires

When results start dropping, keep the body and write a new hook. A new opening line is often enough to make the same ad feel new to the same audience.

Worked example: a 30-second TikTok ad for a local delivery service

6 scenes · about 30 seconds

  1. Scene 1

    Out of dish soap again?

Visual: Cinematic close shot of an empty plastic dish soap bottle tipped on its side by a kitchen sink, harsh overhead light, slightly comic.

    On screen: again?

  2. Scene 2

And the only bottle left at the shop is plastic, again.

Visual: A near-empty supermarket shelf with a single plastic bottle, cool fluorescent light, shallow focus.

  3. Scene 3

Refill Route drops glass refills at your door and takes the empties back.

Visual: A doorstep in the morning with a wooden crate of clean glass bottles, a hand lifting one empty bottle into the crate, warm light.

  4. Scene 4

You pick the products. We pick the day. Skip a week whenever you like.

Visual: Hands tapping a phone on a kitchen counter beside a row of refilled glass bottles, cosy evening lamp light.

  5. Scene 5

Your shelf, without the plastic pile under the sink.

Visual: A neat under-sink cupboard with three glass bottles in a row, door swinging open, satisfying and clean.

  6. Scene 6

Book your first drop from the link in our bio.

Visual: Wide shot of a cargo bike parked on a leafy residential street, crates on the back, golden late-afternoon light.

On screen: first drop · link in bio

What makes an AI TikTok ad feel native

  • Start talking in the very first frame. Silence or a logo reveal gives people a reason to swipe.
  • Use Highlight or Pop captions so the ad reads with the sound off.
  • Keep text overlays out of the bottom and right edges, where TikTok’s own buttons and caption sit.
  • Pick a voice that sounds like a person on the app: Josh, Jessica, Liam or Laura rather than a broadcaster.
  • One message per ad. A second offer belongs in a second ad.
  • End with the exact action and where to do it, said out loud and shown on screen.

Note: TikTok’s rules apply to AI ads like any other. Label realistic AI-generated content, avoid AI depictions of real people, and make sure claims follow the advertising policies on ad creatives and landing pages. If a creator posts the ad for you, the content disclosure setting must be on, and in the US the FTC expects the paid relationship to be disclosed clearly.

Mistakes

  • Going straight to Ads Manager with one untested version.
  • A music track nobody checked for commercial rights.
  • A hook that names the brand before the problem.
  • Ad text that promises something the video does not say.
  • Making the ad 60 seconds long because the generator allows it. Thirty is plenty for most offers.
  • Leaving the same creative running long after its results fell away.

FAQ

Questions people ask next

Can I run an AI-generated video as a TikTok ad?

Yes, as long as it passes TikTok’s ad review: accurate claims, permitted product category, rights to the music, and an AI label where scenes look realistic. Ads that depict real people with AI need extra care and are best avoided.

Should I boost a post or use Ads Manager?

Boosting a post that already performs is the simplest start and keeps its comments and likes. Ads Manager gives more control over audience, budget and placements. Many small businesses test organically, then move the winner to Ads Manager.

Can Veedio post the ad to TikTok for me?

It publishes the video to your connected TikTok account as a normal post. Paid promotion happens inside TikTok, either by boosting that post or uploading the downloaded MP4 in Ads Manager.

Is the music in my AI video safe for a TikTok ad?

Check the rights for anything you use commercially. The simplest route is to export with No music and add a track from TikTok’s Commercial Music Library when building the ad.

How much does it cost to make the creative?

A full video needs a paid Veedio plan from Starter at $19 monthly with 600 credits. A five-scene ad is 13 credits on stills, so a three-version test round is 39 credits. The first payment has a 7-day money-back guarantee; TikTok ad spend is separate.
