Reddit story video script: two original Reddit-style stories you can narrate today
A Reddit story video script opens with the post title read as the hook, sets up the conflict in two or three plain sentences, escalates once, reveals a twist or a verdict, and ends by asking the viewer to judge. Real Reddit posts belong to the people who wrote them, so either get the author’s permission or write your own Reddit-style stories and say they are fictional. Two original scripts follow.
- Reddit’s User Agreement says users retain ownership rights in the content they post.
- Veedio can read a Reddit link as the input, but you should only use posts you have permission to adapt.
- A ten-scene story costs 23 credits on Veedio with still images, or 133 with AI motion clips.
- Veedio’s Voxel world and Comic visual styles give a game-like or cartoon look without using anyone’s gameplay footage.
- Veedio has nine caption styles, including Karaoke and Bold, which suit text-heavy story videos.
Script 1: “AITA for packing a second lunch with my coworker’s name on it?” (60 seconds, fictional)
10 scenes · about 60 seconds
Scene 1
Am I the jerk for packing a second lunch with my coworker’s name on it?
Visual: Comic-style panel of an office break-room fridge, door open, two identical lunch boxes inside, one with a sticky note.
On screen: AITA? (fictional story)
Scene 2
For a month, my lunch kept vanishing from the office fridge. Only on the good days. Lasagna days.
Visual: Comic panel: an empty fridge shelf with a single forlorn fork beside a lasagna-shaped gap.
Scene 3
I didn’t want drama, so I tried labels. Then a bigger label. Then a label that just said: please.
Visual: Three quick comic panels of increasingly large sticky notes on the same lunch box, the last one in shaky capital letters.
On screen: PLEASE.
Scene 4
Then I saw him. Dan from accounts, eating my lasagna at his desk with my fork.
Visual: Comic panel from behind a cubicle wall: a man in a cardigan eating from a familiar blue lunch box, a speech bubble with three dots.
Scene 5
So I made two lunches. One for me, one labelled DAN.
Visual: Close-up comic panel of a second lunch box with a bold handwritten label reading DAN.
On screen: Two lunches.
Scene 6
Our manager walked in as I put it in the fridge, and read the label out loud. The kitchen went silent.
Visual: Wide comic panel of a crowded break room, everyone stopped mid-sip, the manager holding the labelled box up.
Scene 7
Dan went red. Later he told me his rent had gone up and he’d been skipping meals to cover it.
Visual: Quiet comic panel: two coworkers at a desk, one looking down at his hands, soft muted colours.
Scene 8
He offered to pay me back. I said: pay me back in lunches, when you can.
Visual: Comic panel of a handshake across a desk, warm yellow light.
Scene 9
Now we swap on Fridays. His curry is better than my lasagna. Don’t tell him.
Visual: Comic panel of two lunch boxes side by side on a break-room table, steam rising from both.
On screen: Friday swap
Scene 10
But my sister says I humiliated him in front of everyone. So, am I the jerk?
Visual: Final comic panel: the labelled DAN lunch box sitting alone in the fridge light, with a big question mark.
On screen: Jerk or not? Comment below
Script 2: “TIFU by replying to the wrong group chat” (30 seconds, fictional)
5 scenes · about 30 seconds
Scene 1
Today I messed up by replying to the wrong group chat. Twice.
Visual: Voxel-world scene: a blocky character staring at a giant glowing phone screen in a blocky bedroom at night.
On screen: TIFU (fictional)
Scene 2
My friends were planning a surprise party for my roommate. I meant to reply: I’ll keep her busy on Saturday.
Visual: Voxel scene: floating chat bubbles above the character, one labelled Party Planning, another labelled Family.
Scene 3
I sent it to the group chat with my roommate in it. Then I panicked and sent: ignore that, wrong chat.
Visual: Voxel scene: the character clutching their head as a second chat bubble flies toward the wrong group.
On screen: Wrong chat.
Scene 4
She replied with one word. Busy doing what?
Visual: Close-up of a single blocky chat bubble from the roommate, three dots hovering below it.
Scene 5
So now I’m throwing a surprise party that isn’t a surprise, and pretending it’s just dinner. Wish me luck.
Visual: Voxel scene: a party room with balloons and a cake, the character waving nervously at a door that’s already open.
On screen: Send help.
8 alternative title hooks
- “AITA for labelling a lunch with my coworker’s name?”
- “My lunch kept disappearing, so I made the thief his own.”
- “I caught my coworker eating my lasagna with my fork.”
- “The office lunch thief turned out to be the last person I expected.”
- “My manager read the label out loud and the whole room went silent.”
- “TIFU by ruining my roommate’s surprise party in one text.”
- “I sent the party plan to the one person who couldn’t see it.”
- “One word from my roommate and I knew the surprise was over.”
How to adapt these scripts
- Read the title as the first line. On Reddit-style videos the post title is the hook, so write it as a yes-or-no question or a confession.
- Keep the setup to three sentences: who, what keeps happening, why it matters. Viewers need the conflict before the ten-second mark.
- Escalate once, then twist. In Script 1 the label is the escalation and the money problem is the twist that makes the verdict hard.
- End by asking the viewer to judge. A real question gives people a reason to comment, and the debate keeps the story going.
- Say it’s fictional when it is. A small on-screen note such as “fictional story” is honest and keeps you clear of presenting invented posts as real people’s lives.
- If you want to narrate a real post, message the author and ask. Credit them by username if they agree, and change nothing that alters their story.
- Skip borrowed gameplay. Background footage from commercial games belongs to someone else; Voxel world or Comic visuals give a similar feel with generated scenes.
- Turn a hit story into a series with an update video. “UPDATE: the lunch guy” is a natural second part.

FAQ
Questions people ask next
Can I use real Reddit posts in my videos?
Only with permission. Reddit’s User Agreement says users retain ownership of their content, so the safe route is to message the author, ask, and credit them if they agree. Many story channels now write original Reddit-style stories instead.
Are the stories in Reddit story videos real?
Some are real posts and many are invented or embellished. If you write your own, say so on screen. Viewers still enjoy a well-told fictional story, and you avoid presenting made-up events as real people’s lives.
How long should a Reddit story video be?
Short AITA or TIFU stories fit in 30 to 60 seconds. Longer stories with an update can run as a three-minute Short or be split into part one and part two, which also gives viewers a reason to follow.
What background should I use instead of gameplay footage?
Generated scenes that illustrate the story. A comic-panel style suits dialogue-heavy stories, and a voxel style gives a blocky, game-like look. Both avoid using footage from commercial games that you don’t have rights to.
Which voice is best for Reddit stories?
A casual, conversational voice that sounds like a person telling a friend. On Veedio, Josh and Jessica suit first-person stories; Laura suits comic confessions. Keep the same narrator across a series so the channel sounds consistent.
Can Veedio turn a Reddit link into a video?
Yes, Veedio can read a Reddit link as the input and write scenes from it. Use that only for posts you have permission to adapt, or paste your own original story as a script instead.
