Transcript

Have you ever noticed the moon looks super-sized when it's just peeking over the trees, but shrinks as it climbs higher in the sky?

It's not magic, it's your brain playing a clever trick on your eyes! Your mind compares the moon to objects on the horizon, like houses or mountains.

When the moon is high up, there's nothing nearby for your brain to compare it to. It feels like an isolated disk floating in a vast, empty canvas.

So next time you see that giant moon, remember it's just your amazing brain helping you measure its size against the world around you!
