At 35,000 feet, Flight 909 hit severe turbulence, then every cabin light turned red. A passenger screamed as something began crawling across the ceiling.
The flight attendant grabbed a fire extinguisher, yelling “GET BACK!” as she swung at the creature. It dropped into the aisle, moving faster than anything human, just as the aircraft plunged.
In the cockpit, the captain fought to regain control, screaming, “WE'RE LOSING ALTITUDE!” Back in the cabin, the creature lunged again, but the flight attendant struck it hard.
It shattered into black smoke, and the aircraft leveled off. The captain's voice came over the intercom, asking if everyone was accounted for. Before anyone could answer, something knocked three times from inside the cockpit door.
