How to make AI videos in Bahasa Indonesia (cara membuat video AI bahasa Indonesia)
To make an AI video in Bahasa Indonesia, set the video language to Indonesian (not Malay, which is a separate setting), write the script in the register your audience expects, formal baku Indonesian for education and stories or relaxed everyday Indonesian for Shorts, and choose how to address viewers: Anda, kamu or kak. Keep sentences short, write reduplicated words with their hyphen, pick a voice by tone, and post the 9:16 file to TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
- Indonesian and Malay are two separate languages in Veedio's 29-language catalog.
- All 20 catalog voices can narrate Indonesian.
- Captions are word-timed to the narration and burned into the video.
- A five-scene Short costs 13 credits with stills or 68 with AI motion.
- Veedio publishes directly to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

Indonesian, not Malay, and which Indonesian
Indonesian and Malay share a root and understand each other a lot, but they are different standard languages with different everyday words. Veedio has both as separate settings. For viewers in Indonesia, choose Indonesian; for Malaysia, Brunei or Singapore's Malay speakers, choose Malay. Mixing them makes a script sound like it belongs to neither country.
Within Indonesian, the big choice is register. Bahasa baku, the formal standard, is the voice of school, news and documentaries. Everyday spoken Indonesian is looser and friendlier, and Jakarta slang (gue, lo, nggak) is a further step that many young viewers use but older viewers may find too casual.
Pick one per channel. Stories, education and kids' content usually sound best in a soft standard Indonesian; tips, humour and vlogs in relaxed everyday Indonesian.

Writing Indonesian that narrates well
- Write reduplicated words with the hyphen: anak-anak, kupu-kupu, pelan-pelan. The caption keeps them together and the voice reads them as one word.
- Indonesian builds long words with affixes (memperkenalkan, keberhasilan). Keep sentences short around them so the caption line does not overflow.
- "Kak" is a warm, polite way to address viewers on social video, common in creator and shopping content. Anda suits formal or educational videos; kamu suits friendly, younger channels.
- Spell loanwords the Indonesian way when there is a standard form: video, konten, kamera, kualitas. The voice then pronounces them as Indonesian words.
- Softeners like "ya" and "lho" make narration sound human, but one per sentence is the limit.
- Indonesian uses Latin script, so every caption style, including the bold uppercase ones, works as designed. Pop and Bold suit Shorts; Boxed suits longer formal sentences.
Sample: a 30-second pantun Short (original pantun)
5 scenes · about 30 seconds
Scene 1
Siapa yang suka pantun? Ini pantun hari ini. Dengarkan sampai habis, ya!
Visual: Watercolor: a cheerful young narrator figure sitting on a woven mat on a wooden veranda, palm trees and rice fields behind, morning light.
On screen: Pantun Hari Ini
Scene 2
Pergi ke pasar membeli pepaya, pulangnya mampir minum kopi.
Visual: Watercolor: a busy traditional market with piles of papayas, then a small roadside coffee stall with a steaming glass of black coffee.
Scene 3
Kalau ingin hidup berjaya, rajinlah belajar, kejar mimpi.
Visual: Watercolor: a student studying by lamplight at a wooden desk, then the same student looking up at a starry sky full of dreams drawn as kites.
Scene 4
Dua baris pertama itu sampiran, cuma pemanis. Dua baris terakhir itu isi, pesan yang sebenarnya.
Visual: Watercolor: the four lines of the pantun written on a paper scroll, the first two in soft blue, the last two in warm orange.
On screen: Sampiran + Isi
Scene 5
Sekarang giliranmu! Balas dengan pantunmu sendiri di kolom komentar.
Visual: Watercolor: the narrator figure smiling and holding out a blank paper scroll and a pen toward the viewer.
On screen: Balas pantunnya!
English translation and how the pantun works
1. Who likes pantun? Here is today's pantun. Listen to the end! 2. Going to the market to buy a papaya, on the way home stopping for a coffee. 3. If you want to succeed in life, study hard and chase your dreams. 4. The first two lines are the sampiran, just a sweetener. The last two lines are the isi, the real message. 5. Now it's your turn! Reply with your own pantun in the comments.
A pantun has four lines rhyming a-b-a-b: here pepaya/berjaya and kopi/mimpi. The first couplet paints a picture, the second carries the meaning. Inviting viewers to "balas pantun" (reply with a pantun) turns a tradition into a comment thread. Five scenes with stills cost 13 credits; with AI motion, 68.

FAQ
Questions people ask next
Bisa bikin video AI bahasa Indonesia gratis?
With a Veedio account and no card you can make a 4-second watermarked preview of an idea; it cannot be downloaded. Full Indonesian videos need a paid plan, from Starter at $19/mo, with a 7-day money-back guarantee on the first payment.
Is there an Indonesian AI voice?
Every one of the 20 voices narrates Indonesian; there is no separate Indonesian-only voice. Choose by tone and preview a sentence. On Pro and Studio you can also clone your own voice and narrate in it.
Should I choose Indonesian or Malay for viewers in Malaysia?
Malay. The two languages are close, but everyday words differ (kereta means car in Malay and is part of the word for train in Indonesian), and viewers notice.
Can I use Jakarta slang in narration?
Yes, the voice reads what you write. Gue and lo give a very casual, Jakarta-flavoured tone that suits some humour and youth channels. For a wider Indonesian audience, everyday Indonesian with aku and kamu is safer.
Can I write the idea in English and get an Indonesian video?
Yes. The language setting decides the script language. Type the idea in English and the script comes back in Indonesian; check the register before you generate.
Do caption styles work for Indonesian?
Yes. Indonesian is written in Latin script, so every style behaves as designed. Keep sentences short so long affixed words don't crowd a caption line.
