CapCut is the editor you open when you filmed something. Veedio is the generator you open when you did not. Almost everybody who uses one eventually uses both.

CapCut is free, enormous and better than us at everything that happens after a draft exists. It runs on desktop, on the web, on a phone and on a tablet, it costs nothing to start, and a very large share of the short-form video on the internet was cut in it. We are not going to pretend to compete with that and this page does not try.
The difference is where each one starts. CapCut is a timeline: it assumes you have footage and gives you complete control over what happens to it. Veedio is a generator: it assumes you have a sentence and produces the script, the frames, the voiceover and the captions from it. Neither replaces the other, and the workflow a lot of people end up with is ours for the draft and theirs for everything after.

Five things, unhedged. If any of them is what you are buying, they are the better purchase and this is the paragraph that says so.
It is free, properly
Their site leads with free access and “No credit card required”, across desktop, web, mobile and tablet. Nothing we do is free at that scale.
Complete manual control
A real timeline with real tools. Anything you can imagine doing to a clip, you can do — which is not true of a generator with a dropdown.
It works with your own footage
The thing we cannot do at all. If the video is of you, of your product or of a place, CapCut is where it belongs.
It runs everywhere
Windows, Mac, browser, Android and tablet, per their own site. We are a web product and nothing else, so editing on a phone is not something we do at all.
An enormous community
Templates, tutorials and trends move through CapCut first. Being the default has compounding advantages that a small product cannot buy.
And what we lose at, on every page
- Five voices, and that is the entire catalogue. They narrate 29 languages, but there is no cloning, no accent picker and no second voice to pick for a different niche.
- No video or audio goes in. Footage you already filmed cannot be captioned, clipped, dubbed or repurposed — an image or a PDF can be uploaded as a *source*, but the video is always built from scratch.
- No 4K. Every render is 1080-class, and there are four caption styles — bold, highlight, subtle, none — all burned in, with no subtitle file and no custom font.
- Three minutes is the ceiling, and one minute on a free account. No face swap, no voice cloning, no translation of an existing video. Presenter scenes pick from a roster of 4 hosted faces on Pro and Studio — none of them is yours, and you cannot upload one.
- No review score, because we are new. A made-up one is the fastest way to deserve a bad one.

Nothing has to have been filmed
An idea in a sentence becomes a script, a frame per scene, a voiceover and word-timed captions. A timeline cannot help with an empty timeline.
Minutes to a first draft, not an evening
The script is written in about ten seconds and the video renders in about a minute. That is a different unit of effort from cutting one by hand.
The whole thing is repeatable
Same preset, different subject, and the fifth video looks like the first. Consistency across a series is manual work in an editor and a default here.
Publishing and stats built in
Publish to TikTok, Reels and Shorts from the video’s page and read the post’s views, likes, comments and shares back.
It can be driven by an agent

This is the workflow we would actually recommend and it costs us nothing to say. Generate the video here — the script, the frames, the voice, the timing — download it without a watermark, and open it in CapCut for whatever the draft is missing: a trending sound, a text overlay, a cut you want tighter, a clip of your own on the front.
The reason it works is that the two products are strong in opposite places. The blank page is our problem to solve and the last ten per cent is theirs. A generator that pretended to be an editor would be a worse editor than a free one, and we are not going to build that.

Is Veedio a CapCut alternative?
Not really. CapCut is a manual editor and we are a generator. If you have footage, CapCut is free and better at everything that happens to footage. If you have nothing filmed, an editor has nothing to open.
Can I edit a Veedio video in CapCut?
Yes, and it is a good workflow. The export has no watermark on any plan, so you can generate the draft here and finish it there — a trending sound, a text overlay, a tighter cut.
Is CapCut free?

Can Veedio edit my own footage?
No. No video and no audio can be uploaded to Veedio on any plan — a PDF or a picture is as far as the uploader goes. Every scene is built from the script: a generated frame, a Pexels clip or a presenter speaking the line, and none of it can be footage of yours.
Which is faster?
For a first draft from nothing, this is — about ten seconds to a script and about a minute to a render. For the last ten per cent of a video that already exists, CapCut is, by a long way.
