Veedio vsStoryShort

StoryShort runs faceless series that post themselves, keeps characters the same from scene to scene, and can clone your voice. Veedio makes one video at a time from your topic, shows you the script first, and starts at $7 a month.

Everything in StoryShort’s column comes from their own public pages, read on 16 October 2026 and linked at the bottom of this page, so you can check every claim yourself. We have not audited any of it.

StoryShort and Veedio both turn an idea into a narrated, captioned vertical video for TikTok, Shorts and Reels with nobody on camera, and StoryShort does more of the job on its own. You set a series up once and, by their homepage, it picks the next topic in your niche, writes it, makes it and posts it to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram on your schedule. It decides what your characters look like before the first image so the same face carries through the video, lets characters speak on screen, can clone your voice from a short recording, and can rebuild a video that did well for someone you follow. On automation, character continuity and voices, it is ahead of us.

Veedio is built around the single video. You say what it is about, the script and the shot list come back before the render spends anything on the frames, you change what you want, and every scene is generated or matched to stock for its own line. Then you publish it to TikTok, Reels or Shorts from the video’s page. Our entry plan is far cheaper and billed monthly, and the first payment has a refund window theirs does not. If you want a channel that runs itself, read their column first; if you want to see each video before it exists, read ours.

Be honest first

What StoryShort does better

Five things, unhedged. If any of them is what you are buying, they are the better purchase and this is the paragraph that says so.

A series that writes and posts itself

Their homepage says you set a series up once and StoryShort picks the next topic in your niche, writes it, makes it and posts it to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram on a schedule. Every plan on their pricing page includes at least one series and auto-posting.

The same character in every scene

Their homepage says StoryShort decides what your characters look like before it makes the first image, and that characters can speak on camera with one voice each. Each Veedio scene is generated from its own line, so a recurring character is not held to one face.

Your own voice, cloned

Their homepage and FAQ say you can copy your own voice from a short recording, and paid plans include a cloned voice. We have five voices and no cloning at all.

Credits that roll over

Their refund policy says unused credits roll over at each renewal, up to twice the plan’s monthly credits. Ours are topped back up to the plan’s allowance on each renewal and do not stack.

More formats, and your own files in the shot

Their homepage lists long videos of 8 to 10 minutes, UGC-style product ads, ASMR and meme formats, and says you can upload photos, screenshots or a short clip to use in a scene. Our ceiling is three minutes and no video goes in.

And what we lose at, on every page

  • Five voices, and that is the entire catalogue. They narrate 29 languages, but there is no cloning, no accent picker and no second voice to pick for a different niche.
  • No video or audio goes in. Footage you already filmed cannot be captioned, clipped, dubbed or repurposed — an image or a PDF can be uploaded as a *source*, but the video is always built from scratch.
  • No 4K. Every render is 1080-class, and there are five caption styles — bold, pop, highlight, subtle, none — all burned in, with no subtitle file and no custom font.
  • Three minutes is the ceiling. No face swap, no voice cloning, no translation of an existing video. Presenter scenes pick from a roster of 4 hosted faces on Pro and Studio — none of them is yours, and you cannot upload one.
  • No review score, because we are new. A made-up one is the fastest way to deserve a bad one.

Where we are ahead

What Veedio does better

A much lower entry price, billed monthly

Our Mini plan is $7 a month for 200 credits, about 15 five-scene videos. Their cheapest plan is $39 a month, or $23 a month when billed yearly at $279.

A 7-day money-back guarantee

Not for you? Email us within seven days of the first payment for a full refund. Their refund policy says subscriptions and credit purchases are non-refundable, with a discretionary refund only if none of a payment’s credits were used.

The script before anything renders

On any plan, every tool page writes the real script and shot list for your topic before the render spends credits on frames, so you judge the writing first.

Captions timed from the voice itself

Word timings come from the voice model’s own character alignment, because we generated the narration, so captions land on the syllable rather than near it.

Post stats read back next to the video

Publish to TikTok, Reels and Shorts from the video’s own page, and read each post’s views, likes, comments and shares back in the same place.

Questions

Is Veedio a StoryShort alternative?

For making a narrated, captioned faceless short from a topic, yes. For a series that picks its own topics and posts every day from the first plan, or for characters that keep one face across scenes, StoryShort does more than we do.

Which is cheaper?

To start, Veedio: our Mini plan is $7 a month for 200 credits, about 15 five-scene videos. StoryShort’s Starter is $39 a month, or $23 a month billed yearly at $279, for 400 credits — about 26 thirty-second videos by their table, which is more videos for the money once you are on it.

Can I get a refund on either one?

StoryShort’s refund policy says subscriptions and credit purchases are non-refundable, though they may refund a payment from the last 15 days if none of its credits were used. Veedio has a 7-day money-back guarantee on the first payment.

Why is there no AutoShorts.ai page?

We only write a comparison from the other product’s own public pages. On 16 October 2026 the AutoShorts.ai pricing page returned an error and its homepage showed no plan details, so we compared StoryShort, a direct faceless-video competitor whose pricing we could read.

Where did these numbers come from?

StoryShort’s own pricing page, homepage and FAQ, and refund policy, read on 16 October 2026 and linked below. We have not audited any of it and their plans change.
