Submagic captions and polishes footage you filmed. Veedio takes no video and no audio at all, so it cannot touch your footage — this page exists to say that before you waste a click.
Everything in Submagic’s column comes from their own public pages, read on 6 September 2026 and linked at the bottom of this page, so you can check every claim yourself. We have not audited any of it.
If you came here looking for a way to add captions to a video you have already filmed, stop reading and use Submagic. Veedio cannot do it. No video and no audio can be uploaded to us on any plan — the uploader takes a PDF or a picture and refuses everything else — so there is no version of our product that touches your footage. That is a complete loss on their core job and there is no honest way to present it as anything else.
This page exists for the other half of that search: people who type “caption generator” because they assume video means footage, and who do not actually have any. If you have nothing filmed, captioning has nothing to work on. What we do is generate the video — script, a frame per scene, voice — with the captions burned in from the voice model’s own word timings, which is a different route to the same-looking result.

A free plan that renders
Their pricing page lists three videos a month up to 1 minute 30, with a Submagic watermark. That is a real render for nothing.
Longer videos than we support
Up to 2 minutes on Starter, 5 minutes on Pro and 30 minutes on Business. We cap at three minutes, and at one on a free account.
4K and 60 fps on their top tier
Their Business plan lists 1080p, 2K and 4K at 30 or 60 fps. We render 1080-class and nothing above it.
Premium caption templates
Caption design is their craft and their template library is a large part of why people pay. We have four caption styles.
And what we lose at, on every page
- Five voices, and that is the entire catalogue. They narrate 29 languages, but there is no cloning, no accent picker and no second voice to pick for a different niche.
- No video or audio goes in. Footage you already filmed cannot be captioned, clipped, dubbed or repurposed — an image or a PDF can be uploaded as a *source*, but the video is always built from scratch.
- No 4K. Every render is 1080-class, and there are four caption styles — bold, highlight, subtle, none — all burned in, with no subtitle file and no custom font.
- Three minutes is the ceiling, and one minute on a free account. No face swap, no voice cloning, no translation of an existing video. Presenter scenes pick from a roster of 4 hosted faces on Pro and Studio — none of them is yours, and you cannot upload one.
- No review score, because we are new. A made-up one is the fastest way to deserve a bad one.

Captions from the voice model rather than from ASR
We are not transcribing audio and guessing at timings — the word timings come from the voice model’s own character alignment, because we generated the voice in the first place.
No watermark on any plan
Their free plan carries a Submagic watermark, per their pricing page. Ours does not, on any plan, including the 60 free credits.
The script is free with an account
The writing is the part that decides whether a video is worth making, and it runs on every tool page at no cost once you have a free account.

Can Veedio add captions to my video?
No. The uploader takes a PDF or a picture and refuses video and audio on every plan, so there is no way for us to see your footage. Submagic does this and does it well; that is the whole reason this page exists.
Is Veedio a Submagic alternative?
Not for their core job. We are an alternative to having no video at all: we generate the script, the frames, the voice and the captions from a paragraph of text.
How are Veedio’s captions timed?
From the voice model’s own character alignment rather than from transcribing audio, because we generated the voice ourselves. It is a shortcut we get for free and a captioning tool cannot take.

Could I use both?
